Product Description

The IS420ESWBH2A is an unmanaged Ethernet switch typically used within General Electric’s Mark VIe Speedtronic system. This is a control and management system for industrial hydro, gas, and steam turbine systems ranging from single turbines to entire plants.

The IS420ESWBH2A offers many standard features, including

• LEDs for the presence of link activity, duplex, and speed for each port

• An LED for Power

• 10/100 base copper w/ auto-negotiation

• Mbps FX uplink port

• HP MDIX auto-sensing

• Compatibility with 802.3, 802.3u, and 802.3x Ethernet

• 4K Media Access Control (MAC) addresses and a min. 256Kb buffer.

The unit has sixteen ports that support 10/100 BASE TX. Two of these ports also support 100BASE FX connections (LC-type.)

In some cases, ESWB switches may experience a brownout or voltage sag that causes them to incorrectly reboot or to fail at reestablishing a communication link with the system. If this happens, please be aware that your switch may be unable to correctly reboot even when voltages return to normal. Refer to GEH-6721 Vol II for information on how to spot and correct this error.

The IS420ESWBH2A is usually mounted in new applications using DIN-rails. It can be mounted either parallel to rails or perpendicular to them. However, the unit can also be panel mounted and offers mounting holes for this application.

The IS420ESWBH2A is designed as a single unit for better space utilization. The outside frame of this unit has been marked with the GE logo. All ports are numbered. A LED legend is available on the unit’s side panel.
